Ghana Clean Advocacy (GCA) is a Non-Governmental Organization focusing on the Natural Resources and Environment in Ghana. It is made up of professionals in the area of Health, Media, Marketing, and Out-door publication.

Our mission is to reform the lives of individuals through advocacy and other "hands on programs". It is our hope that our intervention would help achieve a clean and peaceful environment for all Ghanaians, endangered animals and plants in our cherished world.

Our vision is to build a capacity that would empower Ghanaians to be part of policy development and implementation. Capacity that will help us (GCA) influence policies to favour the interest of civil society whether poor or rich.

Our objectives as the name depicts involves the following:

  • Help achieve Good Environmental Management and Protection
  • Assist in Development Management and
  • Engender Human Rights Advocacy.

Our core operational areas are:

  • Environmental Management/Protection Management Advocacy
  • Development Management Advocacy

  • Human Rights Advocacy

Partners
We are affiliated to the Coalition of NGOs in Water and Sanitation, Swift Ghana, Safissana Ghana, Resources Center Network, Ghana (RCN) and other NGOs working within the Natural Resource Governance Sector. It is also part of the stakeholder's forum of Kasa, an advocacy platform on Natural Resource and Environment Governance put together by Care International, Vision for Alternative Development (VALD), Media Alliance in Tobacco Control (MATCO), Africa Aurora Business Network, Environmental Service Providers Association (ESPA) and we are proud to be the Radio Channel for most of the organizations working in the Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Sector in Ghana. We also are working in collaboration with The Ministries of Local Government and Rural Development, Environment and Health.


We also collaborate with Heads of schools, Traditional Rulers, Queen Mothers Association of Ghana.

GCA is run with contributions from members and part from sponsorship for our various programs. Due to budgetary constraints, we have embarked on a search for funding sources and to enter into partnership with prominent NGOs with bigger capacities. This we believe would help us build the needed capacity and enable us embark on self sustaining/sustainable projects.

Structure

GCA’s structure accommodates the following:

  • Executive Director- The Administrative Head
  • Project Director-Head of Projects
  • Volunteers-Six National Service Persons

When did we start?

Our advocacy work started on a small scale in July 2004. In May 2008 was the commencement of the advocacy work on Choice Fm, a Radio Station in Accra, the capital city of Ghana and this could be heard live every Saturday morning between 8:00 and 9:00 am on 102.3 MHz.
